Julen starting can't come soon enough.

Minutes for fringe players midweek then got to shithouse something next Saturday somehow. Fortunately I will have been drinking since very early that day so probably will forget we're playing

What's there to say? We're haplessly adrift until Lopetegui arrives. Hard to get excited or feel much of anything until then.

Sad - it looked like we might compete but reverted to type after the semedo abhorrence.

We have quite a few players whose race is run for us.

Nathan Collins should never have been bought as a first team regular- what were we thinking?

Thought Collins was ok today. He's been miles better than Kilman has this year. He's 21 years of age so you are bound to get moments of inexperience. He's the least of our issues at the moment.

Nathan Collins alongside Tarkowski is probably alright. Nathan Collins alongside Kilman is probably not.

I don't think Lembikisia would have been any worse than Semedo today.

Comes to something when there is a conversation about academy players displacing experienced professionals on merit.

Before the copious responses, irrespective of Semedo, we do not ever get a homer ref. He could not wait to give decisions against us all game, even the VAR penalty was a sham

Guedes played as well as he has for us and Semedo had a shocker. Shame to hang on for 45 mins then let it slip, but that's mentality to me. Very weak.

No point getting too worked up with these games. Although there's light at the end of the tunnel now, Shi hung an out-of-his-depth Davis (and the fans) out to dry, pretty much writing off most of these games in the process. Like you can just fluke PL wins and points. Like chucking a poor L2 striker in and hoping he knocks them in.

These games are showing us the real level of many of these players, although of course a good manager can push them beyond that, and also make them more than their sum total as a team.

Would have been nice to get some more points on the board before JL takes over, as I doubt we'll get much change out of Arsenal

That's more on Kilman who's been slumping and shown himself to be something of a shrinking violet.

I do think they can work together but the team as a whole need to defend better - keeping the ball and scoring some goals would also help alleviate the pressure a bit.

Nunes + a striker + a RB who has a brain / 2 functioning knees and that team today isn't bad. Add some actual tactics and preparation and we should be ok.

Think this is harsh, personally. They've shown up a lot better the past couple weeks, attitude-wise.

Brighton mullered Chelsea last week and we were quite close to holding them off with 10 men. You can question approach, tactics etc but I feel they did as best they could in the circumstances.

Killman and Collins would probably be o,k. in front of Coady in a back five. I`ll get my coat.

Perhaps it's harsh, but I don't mean attitude, it's more mental weakness than lack of effort.

I think scoring or conceding 90+ min goals reveals a lot about the mentality of a team, thought the same after the Newcastle game

you’re probably right. You could argue Kilman alongside Tarkowski would be alright?

Whatever, Coady alongside either of them would help and Coady alongside Tarkowski is what Everton have got (for free).

I see. I'd put that down to confidence, in which case its not really a surprise its in short supply.

Hope JL has his motivational speeches ready...

Not at the moment. Kilman needs a spell out the team.
