Id forgotten how bad it was.

Guilherme Finkler
Craig Davies

That's all he could afford to bring in to help to start with.

And he had us competing.

He later signed Michael Kightly and Stephen Ward for less than £200k between them. Went on to play 350+ Wolves games between them.

He genuinely was Merlin the Magician, despite his protests otherwise.

100%. In the list of managers in my time - 1990 onwards, hes top. Nuno achieved more, but with vastly more resources.

I'd bracket his first season very much with Turner 1986-1989. Did a miraculous job with basically nothing. No-one had any right to do what either of them did.

Both of them weren't so good when we actually had some money, Turner markedly more so (although he got very unlucky with Geoff Thomas).

Both should never have to buy a pint in Wolverhampton again, both got some horrendous and totally undeserved flak.

Freedom fighter like Wolfie Smith?
The wife gets off the tube at Tooting Broadway every day and reckons by default qualifies as an honorary member of The Tooting Popular Front.

Still sees people taking photos doing the iconic pose even today. Not a bad legacy for something that ended 45 years ago.

I can imagine Alan in an Afghan coat and beret to be fair.

I drove past there on a trip to Crystal Palace. Had to shout “power to the people” as I went by.

Stacked at GK though. Two out of the four became full internationals. The other two represented England at U21 level and I'm sure Murray would have played for England if not for injury.

Anyone know what Forest have paid us in the end? I lost track with all the add-ons
Think the total (that we all doubted would ever happen) was around £42m, not sure if it's all been satisfied but most of it (Europe/England cap etc) has

First payment was £25m then a big payout for staying up in year 1 (we also got one for Boly)
