Podence scores for Olympiacos. Just the three more to go to qualify.

How can you win your away leg 4-1 and then be 3-0 down in the home leg? That’s piss poor.

A late mid-week round-up (this weekend to follow)

Guedes played the full game and Mosquera came on for the last half an hour as Villarreal came from four down to take the aggregate to 3-4 vs Marseille. Guedes got the assist for the second with a run from deep and sliding the ball through to Sorloth, while Mosquera scored a great header for the third. Heartbreak at the end though as OM broke forward and got a late goal to end the tie.

Assist and goal from 45 seconds in:

Podence played 100 minutes in a comeback that actually came off, and then some. 4-1 down from the first leg, they won 6-1. Podence scored the first then set up the next two.

Goal and assists from 20 seconds:

Silva played a full game in a 1-0 defeat at home to Benfica

Bolla played 81 minutes of a goalless draw at Viktoria Plzen, who then put Servette out on pens. A bad night for the Wolves loanees in Europe.

Lonwijk played a full game and Campbell an hour in a 1-0 win at home to Wigan. Might sound unfair to say after a clean sheet, but Nige looked like he got bullied by the Wigan forwards from the brief highlights I saw.

Moulden played in a 1-0 defeat at home to Blackpool and nearly let in a blooper after mis-controlling a backpass, managed to get it clear though.

Birtwistle played an hour of a 2-0 defeat at Chesterfield.

Joe Young played in a 3-1 win at Peterborough Sports, got lobbed by a lucky deflection for the goal.

On as sub: Owen Farmer came on for the last half an hour in a 2-0 defeat at home to Brackley

Not in squad: Hesketh

From this weekend.

Yerson Mosquera and Goncalo Guedes - Villarreal, La Liga
Mosquera got the full game and Guedes 68 minutes in a 1-0 win vs Valencia.

Ki-Jana Hoever - Stoke City, Championship
Played the full game in a 3-0 defeat at home to Norwich. Went on a great run in the first half past two or three players but then fired the shot across the face of the goal. Got caught forward both times for the two goals then was guilty of some half-arsed tracking back for the first and defending for the second.

Nigel Lonwijk - Wycombe Wanderers, League 1
Played the full game in 2-0 win over Louie Moulden's Northampton. Almost got his head to a cross from a free-kick for his second goal this month.

Louie Moulden, - Northampton Town, League 1
Played in the 2-0 defeat above. Could have got a hand to the first then god knows what he was doing for the second as he just left it to sail in off the post.

Joe Young - Buxton FC, National League North
Played in a 2-0 defeat at home to South Shields.

Owen Farmer - Rushall Olympic FC, National League North
Played the full game of a 2-1 defeat at Kings Lynn. It was his ball into the box that led to their goal, and he had a fierce shot saved towards the end.

On as sub: Luke Cundle came on for the last 20 minute of the Norwich defeat, Joe Hodge after 84 minutes in a goalless draw at Sunderland, Chiquinho came on after 64 minutes of a goalless draw vs Estrela, and Lembikisa after 59 minutes of Hearts' 2-1 defeat at Ross County.

Unused subs: Bolla, Campbell, Birtwistle

Not in squad: Hesketh, McLeod, Hubner

No game: Silva, Podence

Had missed this, this is a bit different to me expected as a loan destination. Interested to know if they contacted us or if we contacted them on this.
Presume they came to us. Plays for Indonesia so will be known in that part of the world due to the Asian Cup

From the weekend:

Moulden played in a fine 1-0 win vs promotion-chasing Derby. Was involved in a fracas at the end that saw one of his team mates get a straight red.

Farmer played and got his first goal, the winner, for Rushall in a 3-2 vs Darlington. He was subbed after 73 minutes.

Goal just after 2 minutes:

Young played in a 3-2 defeat at Blyth Spartans mid-week and gave away a penalty for the third then palyed in a 2-2 draw at Southport.

On as sub: Harry Birtwistle came on after 52 minutes of a 2-1 defeat at AFC Fylde.
Unused subs: Hesketh,
Not in squad: McLeod

That shot looked like it took a hefty deflection off the defender

If you watch the final angle it looks close to the defender but no touch, fantastic hit to get that much power on it and still be directed.
