The problem is she and millions of others genuinely believe it and no serious politician who'll be in her orbit has done anything to confront it. So we can ignore and sneer, but until someone and it should be the Labour Party addresses it then it's going to continue to fester. I still put Corbyn in the top 4 culprits for Brexit.
 
The question is how do you educate them with the facts? Even though she must listen to LBC she can’t take In the real numbers when they are mentioned. She’s not looking any deeper into news to find out the information for herself so must consume bile from her friendship group or from a slippery path on her social media feeds.
The next person on the phone in wasn’t much better saying that Doncaster has been ruined by asylum seekers, laughing at the locals (hate mobs outside?) from their hotel rooms. They all smoke, all have new phones and trainers whilst army veterans are on the streets huddled up in wet sleeping bags. Still considering voting Conservative as they are the ones trying to solve the problem.
How does Starmer get across to them that the Conservatives found homes for rough sleepers during Covid so it’s a political decision that they are in the streets now. As for the asylum seekers in hotels, it been a conscious decision (admitted by Honest Bob) by the shit show in charge to delay application decisions in case speedy decisions encourage more to arrive.

Ultimately Starmer isn't going to get dragged into the conversation as to use one of Deutsch's football analogies he's top of the league and only needs a 0 0 draw to win the title. What he'll find when he has done though is the same people will still be there with the same views and the same feelings and it's harder to retain the title than it is to win it in the first place. It's then for him to face into the problem or try and convince people it isn't one

Tory Vice Chair Rachel McClean (they’ve got a few!) has just been taken to the cleaners by Victoria Derbyshire on Newsnight with regards to the Rwanda scheme. At one point she actually said that Rwanda has always been a safe country and I think that Derbyshire took pity on her stupidity at this point by not mentioning 1994.
 
The problem with racist morons like the one in that video is that they want to be racist.

If they didn't, they'd be able to actually find the true number of refugees coming into the country and wouldn't use crazy nonsense hyperbolic arguments to try and rationalise their points of view.

Racists have absolutely no interest in having their arguments challenged, because they're thick cunts who will never listen. Total waste of time and energy trying to engage with them. Vile people.
 
Tried to have a reasoned conversation about the immigration question with someone in the pub the other night. No amount of facts were going to persuade him from his belief that "The only one that talks any sense is in the Australian jungle right now". These people are so used to being fed a diet of lies that they can't/won't do anything other than parrot them with no substance to back them up. The sooner we start teaching critical thinking in schools the better.
