The Squad 2016/17

Graham has confirmed he's on track for a late September/early October return.

That would be tremendous. However, I wouldn't mind November and not breaking down after a couple of games.

I just hope the expectation isn't too high for Graham and Dicko straight away both have had very serious injury and it will take quite some time before they are back up to speed. If they both recover fully it is a massive boost especially with a new striker coming in.

Don't want Graham rushed back too quick, much as he will want to play as soon as possible.

When will zyro be back?

Not next season. Or at least highly unlikely.

We could probably have him back for before the end of the season, but as we will probably be sitting in 14th with nothing to play for we will probably write the season off and have him 100% for pre season, much like we have with Dicko

fucking hell, what a horrible injury

I think we will need to look for a CB at least with Iorfa and Hause off, Arsenal in the mix and no sign of any investment in the team to give it a go ... very depressing. I expect a new LB and Doherty at RB but Baath and Williamson as a partnership doesn't inspire me, 2 stoppers is never a good idea.

I thought the summer couldn't make me any more miserable but I stand corrected.

It amazes me that our defence is rubbish yet Premiership clubs want to pay big money for Iorfa and Hause. Nice lads, but I'll gladly help them with their packing.

Our defense is rubbish because the other shit in it, infront of it and behind it. Iorfa and Hause, in particular Iorfa stand out playing the England Under 21s. These are the type of players we should be looking to hang on to but can't if we're struggling in the Championship.

Last season did us more damage than we might like to think - mid table mediocraty - poor football - no settled side at any point (& we can debate why that happened - injuries - Kenny's inability to settle on a sensible setup - recruitment flawed etc.) & no certainty that 2016/17 will be any better.

We cannot expect anyone with real potential to want to stay, moving to a Premier club brings bigger challenges for the position they want to fill, but much bigger rewards if they are succesful.

Would not want it to happen, but could not fault Iorfa or Hause if they moved on elsewhere as long as it was upwards as they both have the possibility of becoming very good Premier level performers.

Pretty certain that things won't be any better unless we get a new owner.

Just seen a video of our injured lads continuing their rehab at Compton, Zyro looks in pretty good condition considering how bad his injury was, don't know if it means he'll be back sooner than expected but it's nice to see

If the season started tomorrow this would be Wolves' squad. Overloaded in some areas, bare in others. Work to do.

Updated with recent arrivals and departures.

Updated with our recent signings.

We're looking rather bloated in the middle of the park as it stands.

I'm really excited see a mix of Teixiera, Wallace, Costa, Graham, Dicko, Bod and Mason when we've got them all fit though. Plenty of strength in depth.

Byrne will be on a 4 month loan by the end of the month to L1. If I were Price I'd also want out. Rightly or wrongly he is now our 7th choice midfielder if you include Tex

The squad is really taking shape. We are still short of a specialist left back, central defender and maybe a class central midfielder who can dictate play.

Assuming 4-3-3

GK - Ikeme & Lonergan, neither are great but fine for this level.

DR - Silvio & Doherty, if Silvio can get fit we are extremely strong here, last years player of the year as backup can't be bad!

DC - Iorfa, Batth, Hause, definitely need one more.

DL - ?

MC - Oniangue, Price, Evans, Coady, Edwards, Saville, enough bodies but a top class player added here could make all the difference.

Attack - Dicko, Bodvarsson, Texeiria, Costa, Mason, Graham, Wallace, Zyro, Henry, Enobakhare, is more than enough attacking talent.

I posted this in the transfer thread - apart from Coady, all of the Jackett-era central midfielders are into the final years of their contracts. I seriously can't see us offering Edwards another year extension, he's going to be 31 in February and he's losing his main attribute, his stamina. Saville, Evans, and Price are all pretty much playing to justify Wolves either taking up the option of triggering a year's extension, or offering them a new contract, but I don't think the club will worry too much about being able to ship them out on loan if they're out of Zenga's plans by January, to run the last few months down. Coady seems to be left to fill in for lack of squad depth at the moment, I don't get the impression Zenga is particularly impressed with him, can imagine him being moved on before the end of his contract in summer 2018. Plus, provided Teix maintains his form and doesn't do a Doumbia, the only way we'll be able to keep hold of him permanently is if we get promoted this season.

Basically, if we start next season with more than two of the current seven midfielders still here, I'll be amazed.
