We do ok at home. One win away from home in the last 20 years as far as I recall.

Unlikely that any would, though that's not how the Cup works - otherwise there would have been no upsets over the years.

If we get there & lose at least it won't be the embarrassment of going out to a non league side.

Only positives would be Coates is a barge and I have never really rated O'Shea, so there is something for us to work against at the back. Midfield should rip us up, and Fletcher is a country mile ahead of anything in our forward line, no matter how well Dicko is doing.

There is of course a chance that we will go there and get a result (although I don't fancy us to win next Tuesday anyway, rendering it moot). There is also a chance we could win the league this season. The balance of probabilities suggests you should get your hopes up on neither.

Sheffield United take the cups very seriously. Sunderland are also a lot better than the Redknapp mercenary crew. Who clearly didn't give a toss.

Poyet also clearly takes the cups seriously based on last season. If we were up against a Redknapp team I'd fancy it.

Pain in the arse. Got the weekend of the Charlton game off work so was considering coming down for it. With an away tie I'll have to wait to see who wins the penalty shoot out after our borefest vs Fulham next Tuesday by which time the train prices will have gone through the roof. I'll fookin strangle Leon Clarke for missing that sitter on Saturday.

I'd have Iorfa and Ikeme over Vergini and Pantilimon in the Sunderland team btw.

Don't mind the Sunderland away day. Couple of decent pubs down by the sea where I've always had a good pint and chat with the home fans.

Sunderland fans are as a general rule, a really decent bunch. And I am not just saying that as pirate jet is back among us (welcome back mate!). If we were at Molineux, I would be right up for it as a game where we had a decent chance and there would probably be a great atmosphere as they always bring tremendous away support to our place. Away, we will be a massive underdog, and their extra class should comfortably show through.
