Palace 2-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

As divisive a player Adama is, i'm sure we all agree that if we are going to bring him on, bring him on at LW (preferably) or RW.
I was joking of course.

I wouldn't have bought him on at all, and that I do mean.

yeah, we all you know you hate him
Fred, you must be loaded today as you've regressed to a 15yr old's vocab.

Just because I don't rate a player doesn't mean I hate the man.

No, im just an 11 year old seeing things you cant :) what would you have done then HT, joynnyboy?

Just moved Trincao and Hwang close to Raul to take the pressure off him as I thought we played OK in the first half.
Ok, didnt think we played ok in the first half at all, but you are entitled to your own opinion of course

I thought bringing him on and then having him and the team still deep was bizarre.

I’d have bought them both on and gone 4231, or if we must maintain the shape then the team had to get much higher up the pitch and having him parked out by the touchline high up the pitch. Instead he’s basically playing RB offering nothing at either end.

Just very lazy and mid-table apathetical.

The trend is generally a Wolves side that looks expressive and can play a bit.

Palace turn up every so often.

Thankful with that.

Kilman (MoM)

I thought we'd stopped with Adama at RWB too.

I guess Bruno had to find out Adama can't play there for himself.

Palace dominated the ball and were too mobile for our midfield when we had it. Pretty poor performance all round but the tactics didn't help the players at all, vieira got it spot on, Lage miles away which in itself is pretty embarrassing considering relative experience.

Sounds like Neves to me?

Says a lot for Albion that he looked fairly average in their side.
Not so sure about that.

Neves rarely looks threatening in the oppositions half? Never drives with the ball like Gallagher either?

Ironically, I think he looks the much better player when he’s played further forward but each Wolves manager disagrees with me.

Meh.

Don’t think we were as bad as people are making out, however don’t think we deserved a point.

First half scrappy, nothing in it. Raul with a decent free header chance which he should do better with.

2nd half felt Palace were the better team. Quite noticeable when we play against a team who’s centre mids are fairly mobile/athletic we struggle when playing mout and neves together. Saw a stat that they are both in top 10 players for being dribbled past in the prem this season.

Coady struggles against a target man or a forward of that ilk. Everything seemed to stick to benteke. Arguably should’ve kept someone on his toes , much like they did to Raul.

Can’t expect to win every game, Palace aren’t a bad side. Have to say loved Vieras positive substitutions for them. 2 up and bringing on another forward player. Love that

More disappointed with the performance than the result tbh, was hoping to be close to parity but at no point did we look to be controlling the game, didnt create too much or put them under enough pressure at the back. First half we defended well and restricted them to virtually nothing, thought the second half was going the same till Sa and Coady? decided to go for the same ball. Didn't see the second goal so no idea what happened. Thought the changes were needed but why Adama at wb? why not take off a CB? Raul had one of those days but as has been said no real help.
We didn't get the ball to Traore for ages and when we did the first thing he did was go backwards.
Hopefully Bruno learns from it

second goal, deflected off Coadys chest into the goal, nothing to do for Sa and a lucky goal for Palace..but if you dont shoot you dont score of course ;)

Low quality game. Kilman did well. If we finish above Palace we will have had a solid season. Tough team.

You said:

"he runs all day, great in the tackle, nice passer and an eye for goal."

That sounds exactly like Neves doesn't it?

That's what i was replying to, what you've said since I agree with.

I'd say ambles more so than runs, solid in the tackles he makes but over commits and completely misses far too many for my liking and his eye for goal has been largely a thing of legend since promotion.

Scored a few from open play last season did he not, (was he our leading scorer in the end?) in a very negative side that scored few goals ?

I think you're very harsh on his tackling and running.
