I agree with your first paragraph.
In terms of the second it should be, it's a public interest story, that's the world she married into, but with the vague level of detail she's revealed and she and her family should be left alone.

30 years ago I'm guessing we'd have seen an announcement, but without the feeding frenzy leading up to it.

I know lots of people have battled cancer at a young age but even so, she's just 42 with a young family. Awful that she has to fight this in the public eye. She is most certainly a bright light in a family filled with drama. Wish her, William and her young ones all the best for the future.

While true, and having family members pass away from the dreaded disease, I hope for the best for everyone who has it or is affected by it. Astonishes me how much money is put into war, elections etc that we cannot conquer this disease yet. I have no doubt there is a cure but it is not in the interests of some to put an end to it.
