The Rugby Thread

Didnt expect that, means we can win by playing tight rugby rather then having to try to beat France at there own game.
Mind you still dont think we will beat France.

Absolute mess from Ireland there presents France with a penalty try

Well that's us out the running, between England and France now.
France need to go mental but not impossible

Well England win the championship but its all been a bit weird.
tbh the competition has been a bit disjointed even before lockdown, no team looked dominant

Just bagged a ticket for Lions v Japan in Edinburgh next summer.

Can anyone recommend a curry house?

Geordan Murphy leaves Leicester Tigers “by mutual consent” - great player shown way too much loyalty as manager/director - hope Tigers can start climbing back up the league in future.

Watching Wales v Ireland game - proper use of a VAR system

Throw in near the Wales line - ball goes back with a possible knock on from an Irish player - ball loose in the end zone but no clear grounding by an Irish player.

Ref & Assistant have a quick discussion then refer it to the video ref though clearly the onfield Ref is still in charge. All are miked up & pics shown online (whether it is within the Stadium am not sure, but there's no one in yet so that doesn't matter). Onfield ref asks the questions and gets conf - no knock on & no clear grounding of the ball so no try.

Correct decisions & whilst it probably took a couple of minutes didn't feel that long as you were aware what was going on.

Prem League just take note

Way to go! You've brought attention in a specific way to what I've been saying since VAR came into being. I hope the football authorities can swallow their pride enough to learn from Rugby on this particular count. I guess being in our early and late seventies respectively enables us to see things clearly that others can only confound.

Well Wales appear to have gone to complete shit. Shows how important Gatland was.

England Georgia on Amazon today, hope they do it as well as the do football.

Thought this morning score was a typo huge win for Argentina

First game for Argentina as well since the World Cup.

Two things I learnt last night, we are not very good at the moment, Farrell not that good a coach, doing same things as Schmidt did just not as well, will be surprised if we get within 20points of England next week.

Wales are just awful at the moment, will be surprised if he is still there after next years 6N the way things are going, as Paddy says shows what a good job Gatland did.

Magnificent second try from Johnny May

Fluky against the run of play try for Wales to take the lead against England, with bonus knock-on during the build up too.
