As I remember, Les Wilson was a utility player who either played at right-back or in midfield. He was disciplined but not the world's most exciting player. He competed for right back with Jerry Taylor and played a good few games. The change of him getting picked once we'd splashed out £80,000 on Derek Parkin was pretty slim. I think he only played in midfield after Parkin's arrival.

One of his most memorable games was man marking George Best in a famous 1-0 home defeat. It must have been one of the first times an English team had employed such a tactic as there was an article about it in the next day's Sunday Times.

Remember him as a left back rather than right, but you are correct, he didn't get much of a look in after we signed Parkin

Evan Williams - definitely Scottish, despite the Welsh name. One of the few Wolves players I have met personally. Signed from Celtic, played late 60s/early 70s, though I don't remember being a regular at any point.

Evan Williams - definitely Scottish, despite the Welsh name. One of the few Wolves players I have met personally. Signed from Celtic, played late 60s/early 70s, though I don't remember being a regular at any point.

Oh just Googled 13 appearances in 3 years no wonder it didn't ring a bell( the last year '69 on loan at Villa) It were going to be this vague why not pick big Shaka with his one guest appearance there's Trinidad covered
