General Wolves News

Right no one else is going to touch on it, so i'll ask. You.......hair styling ??
What are you trying to suggest? Don't be baldist, I already have evidence against forum members for fat shaming.

Anyway, I've lost weight AND have stolen Chris Rea's wig, so I look Jim Dandy I'll thank you very much.

I've said before I'd happily swap Traore for David Brooks from Bournemouth

Big fan of Brooks since he was at Sheff Utd but his injuries are of huge concern. 100 appearances at 23 is a little anemic.

By contrast, Neves of the same age has made 244.

I also like Brooks, has a lot of football in him, but why not have both?

I know it’s a bit silly but I get annoyed whenever I see a Fulham game on TV and see that new stand they are building.

We could replace the Steve Bull whilst there are no fans in the ground without any disruption. Wouldn’t that be logical?

I’m sure it must have been discussed by Fosun.

I was thinking that the other day!

It was mentioned at the start of the virus. Their plans for the stadium are on hold until the virus's affect on everything is nullified. Team strengthening is priority.
The more i read about Fosun the more i am impressed with them as an organisation. Wolves are one of their projects they really want to succeed in, and the Wolves brand is really important to them in a global market. A business as a family is also very important in Chinese culture, which is why you can see why Nuno is not going anywhere soon, nor is the identity of our club. Our "animal" logo is also a big reason why Fosun believe that Wolves is hugely marketable in China. Maybe most of you know this already.

“Team strengthening” may be the priority. But Fosun apparently have bottomless pits of Money and stadium development doesn’t count to FFP.

So then you have two questions. Does it need doing? Are you ever going to do it? The answer to the first one is obviously yes, and if the second one is a yes then there’s no better time to do it than now. Unless you have some belief that football stadiums will never be full again and there will be no demand for corporate packages (and the other stuff you could make money on from renovating). In which case we may as well pack everything up now as the world will have bigger issues.

Fulham haven't done this as a reaction to Covid meaning empty stadia though. They've done it because they started doing it last season.

This is it in November 2019, before Covid was a word:

So they had little choice. We on the other hand have a stand which is at least functional for now and for a while, for all its many faults. Apples and oranges.

I’m not saying Fulham have done it because of Covid. I was purely questioning the praise for Fosun for not doing it.

The original question seemed to be along those lines though (apologies if it wasn't meant that way).

Besides which it's a two year project, even the biggest global pandemic in a century isn't likely to mean we'll be away for that long.

Fosun, like a lot of Chinese businesses, have pulled back on all overseas investment apart from medtech (obviously).

The bureaucracy has gone through the roof to get money out of China apparently, not stopped but proving very time consuming.

I think Fosun have missed an opportunity to expand and redevelop the stadium. They could’ve renovated the inside of the SB and if nothing else done the hard work with minimal fuss but have chosen not to which I think is a trick missed.

Business's don't become big by just throwing money away. I'm sure if Fosun knew the pandemic would have gone on for this long they might have considered doing some work on the stadium. Obviously any works like that take time to do, but not even Jesus Christ himself could have predicted the amount of time that this virus has gone on for, especially in Europe.

So Nuno has revealed Adama has been playing with a foot injury since returning from international duty.

no real surprise there, he hasn't been at his best and doesn't seem as keen to break tackles. Hopefully its just physical and not got into his head with all the horrendous challenges perpetrated on him with little support from the officials
