Leeds 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Failing to understand why only one sub, when fresh legs may have helped. Why not stick Cutrone and Bonatini on the bench - at least they are better forward options if he doesn't want the 'kids'

Positives for yesterday:
We played some great stuff for 25 mins or so
The back two generally played pretty well and I'd expect them to improve as they learn to play together
Hwang was half decent, faded badly in the 2nd half but not sure if this was fitness/injury related
Credit to Lage for the tactical tweaks for the 2nd half, we were far more aggressive.

Negatives:
The diving, the ref had clearly decided against giving lots of soft fouls and yet we continued to drop to the foor at the slightest touch (or sometimes no touch). Ref had none of it.
The fullbacks didn't know where they were supposed to be, tracking the runner or going to the ball. Just ended up doing neither.
Sa was all over the shop at times, I don't think he'll have as good a season as he did last year.
The bench, 'nuff said about that tbh.

Sa was a train wreck, gave away what should have been a stonewall penalty, was terrible for their first goal (and what was that dive after it had already gone in?), and was nearly caught out faffing around with the ball in the 6 yard box. Bit of a shocker, but thankfully it doesn't happen every game.

Just watched us on MOTD. Is it just me or does Bruno, when things aren't going well, come across as a little tetchy and...well, weird?

Most football managers are dicks it would seem and ours comes across as no exception.

I also have no idea what this means "I am confident we're in the right way" Not sure that's the kind of sound bites the club should be leading with as the main headline on the website.

He just means he thinks that the players have adapted to the style/formation change and will get better as the games go on.

I really struggle understanding the guy. I wonder if some of the players have the same problem.

Been away at the seaside all weekend. I caught the score, but nothing of how we played. Anyone got a brief resume on it? Is MGW the new messiah?

Where is Cutrone? I don't think he's any good but at least has PL experience. I wonder why he wasnt on the bench.
That’s a very good question. Absolutely nothing to lose in having him there and there would be a small chance he might have grabbed an equaliser - which as well as gaining a point would have increased his value (from zero admittedly).

Sounds like some bloody-mindedness at play to me.

Or it could be a player who has been messed about refused to play. Or he is off on loan pdq and the receiving team don’t want the injury risk.

Not EVERYTHING has to be Fosun are Satan.
Neither did I say that. It’s just weird enough that we start a season without a striker, even weirder when we have some but don’t put them on the bench.

We have some that aren't viable options for the level we are at so it doesn't really make too much difference.
