Decent effort from La Collina finishing fifth,probably would have placed if she'd travelled a bit better initially. Awful scenes with Grey Pearl.

Decent day out at Salisbury with an 18/1 and 16/1 winner. It would have been even better if I'd not committed the cardinal sin of changing your mind at the last minute, still made a solid profit.

An awful day for the favourites with the exception of Fort Bastion who won by 10 lengths at a canter.

Had a small each way bet on La Collina after you tipped it, but I didn't really notice it during the race. Moonstone Magic was very disappointing, probably too little preparation given the last minute entry. I thought it was a superb ride from Ryan Moore on the winner, pulling away coming into the dip. If he had been on the favourite rather than the jockey's son, I reckon that would have won too. I also think the delay had a big effect on some of the horses. Biggest disappointment was that the course gave no update on Gray Pearl, I found out from a mate who had phoned his brother who was watching on TV.

Broke even on the day, got the first two winners but nothing after that. Looks like you had a good day - good job you didn't take Slink's advice to follow Richard Hughes.

It may be easy to say but i'm not sure the form of the 1000 Guineas will hold up due to the hold up before the race and ground conditions, it felt like Homecoming Queen just handled everything far better than all the others. The Gray Pearl situation wasn't good and even watching on t.v there wasn't great communication coming from the track and it's such a shame that she had to be put down after picking up a spinal injury while getting stuck under the stalls.

It looked like he did have a good day and it was a good job he didn't take on board what i said but i only said i was considering them and i did just and that and came to the conclusion that i'd rather keep my money as they were very short and i had no idea how they would go in the ground which was awful. The sooner it stops raining and the ground firms up the better as far as i am concerned.

I just thought the win was down to Ryan Moore getting to grips with the situation better than the others. It's a shame he has to play second fiddle to O'Brien Jr in the big races. You're right about the state of the ground, it doesn't feel like the season has really started.

It's only right that he plays second fiddle though as Joseph is stable jockey and Moore is the stable jockey for Stoute. Joseph is also very young and the experience he's getting will be valuable in the future and if he can keep his weight down to ride on the flat he will be very good.

I thought Moore was contracted to ride for O'Brien in th UK and that Colm O'Donoghue was his stable jockey. If not, I stand corrected. Joseph has said himself that he's unlikely to have a long career as a jockey because of his weight and that he'll probably get involved on the training side - presumably in preparation to take over like his father did.

Joseph is very much stable jockey now as seen by him taking the rides on Camelot and Maybe over the weekend and his very average ride on St Nicholas Abbey today in which Colm O'Donoghue beat him on a 66/1 stablemate. He's also ridden all of his fathers better horses so far this season like Kissed and Imperial Monarch. Yes due to his height Joseph is alwas going to struggle with his weight but he seems to be managing it well at the moment and i should imagine if there comes a time when he can't he may well become a jumps jockey or as you say become assistant to his father.

Was another good run from Tullius, he's very much a horse on the up and looks to be improving all of the time and it will be interesting to see where connections go from here.

Pretty impressive chasing debut from Carlito Brigante, travelled nicely, jumped with no issues and won very easily without really being tested.

Hadn't seen that he was making his chasing debut as i don't tend to look at any jumps meetings from now but after having a look he really should be beating those rivals considering his rating of 155 over hurdles, how did he go off at 2/1 though?

The Dante looks impossible for me, a number of them have claims. Bonfire has Group 1 form behind the 2000 Guineas second and is highly regarded by his owners and trainer. Ektihaam didn't look right in the Dewhurst at the backend of last year but won well on his seasonal debut albeit on really soft ground at Newbury. Ernest Hemingway won easily on debut and is from a yard which has an abundance of quality horses. Fencing looks like he will relish 1m2f and further and will get better as he gets older and was a decent 6th in the 2000 Guineas. Mandean was highly regarded in France and is apparently Godolphins main Derby hope.

All that has gone through my head and i've decided i'll watch and just hope that a horse puts in a great visual performance. If i had to have a bet though i think i would go with Bonfire.

Not really, he's a freak and if he's sound he will win and Excelebration will finish second as those are the two best horses.

Awful news with Brinidisi Breeze having to be put down. He looked like a mighty prospect at Cheltenham.

Such a shame and what an awful way to go, jumped out of his paddock and was hit by a tanker.
