Watford 0-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

So happy and relieved to get our first league win. Thought we were far the better team. Good to see attacking options off the bench with the capacity to change the game.

Trincao is just an excellent footballer and Jimenez looked more and more like his old self as the game went on. Some very winnable fixtures coming up so overall alot to be optimistic about 😁

I feared the worst again after Semedo missed his second half chance but delighted we are finally up and running. Hopefully we can go on a run now with some good fixtures coming up. Great for Hwang to get a goal already too. Plenty to be positive about!

We've just won , aren't you even a little bit happy ?
I think you’ve misread my post, more a tongue in cheek comment about how the first 3 games we could’ve scored 6?

I am very happy just found the goals amusing given the first 3 games?

Are you a little bit happy that we’ve won? Just asking as seems abit pedantic to go looking to pick at people.

If that's the case then I apologise unreservedly

The result our performance (if not our finishing), deserved. Trincao was outstanding - do we have an option on him? Hope so. Delighted to see Hwang off the mark. Only a tap-in, but right place, right time, which is both encouraging and somewhere Fabio never quite seems to be. We definitely need someone with a striker's instinct. We're a great watch this season.

Nice to get the win and a couple of goals in.

Really hope this kicks our season off from here.

Well it's about fooking time! That will do all of them the power of good. Onwards and upwards then..

All good my man.

could quite easily win out next 3 given the run. 12 points from the first 7 games you’d definitely be happy with that.

I for one am optimistic from the first 4 games

Yes we do! See above.

Everyone comes out of that with credit, IMO. Even Marcal and Raul, who I thought were both fairly poor in the 1st half, were both exceptional in the 2nd.

We looked by far a better organised outfit, a thoroughly deserved win. Great to see us continuing to attack after the goals instead of camping out on the edge of our area

If Marçal played for anyone else you’d think he was a total arsehole* and would be booing his every touch

*he seems a decent chap off the pitch

Pretty good first half, really strong second half. I thought was an error to put Adama on the right but we still dominated, even if Trincao’s influence was less.

excellent finish by the Watford defender. Raul got better as second half went on too. Barely gave up any chances yet again, very impressive

Agreed re switching the wide men - it freed Adama up and tbf he did some good work 2nd half but at the same time it neutered Trincao a bit and he drifted out the game. Shame as he was excellent first half - love players that glide around the pitch like that. But, good thing is, we have a bit of depth available now with Hwang and Podence and they both played their part, so promising there.

Neves was very good again. And that was probably the most dangerous Semedo has looked since he joined us. Cliche but the fact he's getting into those positions is a good sign.

Big chance to kick on now, let's go.

-edit- forgot, we defended set pieces really well. Was a major issue last year for sure so good to start getting that ironed out. Attacking ones could still do some work but got the 1st goal from a short corner (!)

Ooh. Shiny. Cheers. I shall definitely get up and have a bit of that.
