Wolves 0-2 Crystal Palace: Verdict Thread

Was there something about a big reset in the summer?

He must be pissed. There is no way you can defend that diabolical performance.

First half = abject. Second half = better but no chance of scoring.
Teams have worked us out. High press and don't give us anytime on the ball then play the ball through us. Pack the centre and make us go wide when we attack as we have nothing in the box. And without wing backs we are hopeless anyway.
I would wager we will struggle against every team unless we change.
I still believe Bruno is the guy to take us forward, but he needs players in the summer, and a clear out of the deadwood.
I think we're going to be disappointed come the end of the season after such a good one up to now.

Just got in. From our body language within the first five minutes you could tell we were going to lose.

Bruno has been given players and even has Neto back now. No matter who is in the front three the result is the same. I can only conclude that this ineptness is actually according to plan (although clearly not with the desired result).

Shouldn't be expecting anything from Neto this season other than getting match fit and some sharpness back. He's not going to single handedly fix this.

He said we played well last weekend??? Forgive me if I'm wrong but 80% training in attacking is against your own players... defenders who are all over the place. Our defence was solid.. what's happened? I can see tiredness, confusion and lack of moral.

I think the Arsenal loss really affected their confidence.

Bruno Lage “We didn’t win our duels. We need to grow up and learn how to play against these types of teams.”

Is that aimed at Podence?

So few players in that team that regularly look like they really want the ball, either through a pathetic lack of movement to receive it or shocking lack of composure in the way they use it.

A football team that plays precious little football.

Today. They have played some decent games this year.

Fair.

Wow. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Hoever any time soon…
Lage on Hoever injury: "I have too many kids in my team that don't work the way they should. And then when they come into the team, this kind of things happen. Injuries can happen, but this one happened because he's not prepared. I don't waste time with guys who don't work hard."

But yet still picked him and was able to change things after his injury. Yep Hoever isn’t up to it but the reason we lost wasn’t solely down to Hoever.
I don't think he's saying that. Jonny isnt / wasnt ready for 90 minutes yet either.

Yep if he's so Ill prepared then what's he doing picking him in the first place.

Lage takes the blame for me today, it was the first time in a long while that I've felt like just walking out. It was the wrong starting XI in the wrong formation and once they scored we were never ever getting anything from the game.

You watch other teams and you can feel they're going to score, yet you watch us (and this goes back to when Nuno was in charge too) it seems that no matter how much pressure we may have on the opposition, you never feel or see where goal will come from.
