General Wolves News

I agree it’s poor form but having spent a number of years in bull breed rescue 3006 to 2020 it never ceases to amaze me how many dogs are imported with such abysmal modifications

I don't think I've ever liked you more.

Protect all puppers!

Quick browse of Sa's Instagram suggests to me that the picture is taken in Greece, so Alan can forgive him overlooking Porsche, but would also appear he is responsible for the butchering of the dog's ears, so I'm well on board with Newbridge's dismay.

Some people still think the cropping is actually good for the dogs, misguided though they are.

Thank you Al. We have rehomed or helped to rehome so many bull breeds. We have seen some sights but you will be pleased to know that we have had the majority of successes with many happy re homings of American bulldogs Bull terriers and Staffordshire bull terriers.

It’s not. It’s disfigurement of your pet to create a look. A foul thing. I love my staffie’s floppy ears.
I know that and you know that, but people continue to be misinformed. Shocking news, I know.

My first doggo was a foxhound mix and his floppy ears were absolutely my favorite thing about him.

This is an extremely good boy.
Just recovering after an op after hit bit the end off a giant Kong toy and swallowed it! Supposed to be nearly indestructible but not for a bullie. 3500 later ………, thank god for pet plan insurance! Jack is my first non rescue. Dynamite rocket and winston all ebt or Minnie bulls were rescues . Worked with dog lost , bullies in need amongst others.

I'd put a picture of my current fuzzy roommate, but... he's a cat.

Genuine question, not being arsey, but what's the difference between a cropped tail (I've had breeds where this is seen as acceptable and never have done it, because they are pets not hunting dogs) and ears?
Docking a tail is acceptable if its a working breed and likely to be worked. This has to be undertaken within a certain number of days from birth by a registered vet, that dog will never be shown. There's arguments for and against it, but a longer tail stub should always be left now that gives a dog full expression and it is no longer acceptable purely for aesthetic reasons.

Docking ears is a hangover from fighting pits, they cropped them to help stop them being ragged to ribbons. It also leaves the dog with a permanent aggressive expression and achieves zero health benefits outside of a dog pit. It will also be undertaken by a back St vet in this country and is painful with the ears being strapped for weeks to set in the 'desired' position. Despite what people tell you, it will have been done in this country.

In recent years the Instagram fashion for docked ears has become much more popular in this country, footballers getting on board with it. I think John Stones has his dogs ears cropped too.

MGW too I think?

Just a note for the AFCON. Liverpool media are saying that they will lose their players after the final whistle on Boxing Day. Not the 20th Dec that Lage mentioned.

Though it is yet to be finalised officially.

There are links to an Athletic article about it in the replies here:

Spiers article about Peak6 is worth a read, particularly the bit about their involvement with Dundalk where their analytics team suggested that their goalkeepers take corners.
