The TWF Horse Racing Thread

Not a good day.

Randomly, Ive just bumped into Penk while walking home from work, he was sitting in traffic near the port, he'd just got off the ferry. Random!

Yep. Tyner has won this for the last two years and his winner in 2016 had an almost identical preparation with two spins over hurdles. They absolutely love a gamble and it's one of the biggest races for selling horses of the season for trainers like him.

Ran an absolute cracker.

Absolute carnage in the last. What on earth Townend is doing I do not know. Never seen anything quite like it.

I have no idea what Townend was doing. He's got a 21 day ban because of it which i think is extremely harsh but i just can't think of any good reason for him to do what he has. I think it's because i'd backed Finian's Oscar each way and that's just how my betting is doing right now.

It was a bit surreal.

Townend was clear, looked behind to see where the other horses were and the horse bolted right. Was very, very unfortunate.

It was reported on the radio this morning that he said he'd heard someone shouting for him to go round the fence.

Keen on Glenloe in the 6.05 tomorrow at Punchestown

He was backed like defeat was out of the question in the Pertemps at the festival and would have won comfortably if Barry hadn't lost the plot. He nearly pulled it out of the bag anyway (some people will say he did in any case) and is up 4lb. Delta Work who won that race has come out of it and run an absolute stormer (now rated 145, up 6lb) today in the G1 3m novice behind the very classy Next Destination and beating Albert Bartlett winner Kilbricken Storm with the rest a long way back.

The 8's immediately after today's race have gone, but 7's are still freely available. I can see this going off 7/2.

I think he's got a great chance too Nando along with the other fancied JP horse A Great View. They are at the head of the market but it's for a reason and can't see something beating both of them.

I'll stick 2 up e/w against the field in the 6.05 Ah Littleluck and Miles To Memphis.

Great day at Punchestown w Penk and his mates yesterday and had a few nice winners too. Pravalaguna and Patrciks Party did well for me.

Always handy to have Mullins in your corner but fair play to Townsend, came out yesterday and won on 3 out of his 4 rides.

Mullins has 44 entered in Saturday's handicap hurdle. Farcical stuff really.

Go on Faugheen you absolute machine. Brilliant.

guineas on Sat.

2 personal favourites. El Gran Senor accelerating from a very classy field (inc a future Arc winner). a great horse and hugely unlucky not to take the derby - up there with the very best.
