Wolves 3-0 Sheff Utd: FA Cup 3rd Rd - Verdict Thread

Easy win. Never really got out of third gear - though we were in 1st gear for the 1st 10 and nearly conceded because of that.

Podence is showing what a clever player he is and Fabio had a really good game, lovely assist for the 1st goal.

Delighted for Semedo to score, perhaps it'll give him a boost if he finds himself in a similar situation over the next few games.

As for Adama... Perhaps the worst he's played for us? For those who dislike Adama, I saw your reasons today! I thought he'd have been a real threat against Sheffield United, lower league opposition and (probably) aiming for a move to another club. Today was a really lethargic performance from him.
If he thought that was him putting himself in the shop window then the bloke is not the smartest, I can see us being stuck with him :(

That's the thing with Adama, I think. He's in his own head far too much. No short term memory loss, as they'd say of QBs in the NFL. He lets his bad play stick with him. And then every time he has an opportunity, it's often so gilt-edged that I think he crumbles under the pressure and his history of fucking those situations up.

4th round draw coming up on ITV next.

No doubt it’ll be City or Liverpool away or city will get Boreham Wood or kiddy at home.

Great result, after a nervy start where we gifted them 3 good chances. Podence with his best performance in a Wolves shirt and MOTM. RAN was also excellent and the 2 of them combined brilliantly for the 2nd goal. Not sure which bit of that goal I enjoyed most: Podence's check back to get away from his man, the wonderful ball into the space, the run from RAN, the superb cross or the quality finish from Semedo. That is the kind of goal we really need to score more often.

Fabio built on his excellent cameo against Man Utd with an excellent first half performance. He actually made a near post run for a cross inside the first 5 minutes. I don't think we'd seen that in the previous 19 games. His all around play was good and he was unlucky with a great little effort that could have made it 2-0.

Adama and Marcal only disappointments for me.

We're No.25 in the draw.

Everyone poised to be the fastest typist ? :)

That'll do nicely. Missed the big boys and a home draw.

Tense watching it when I didn't know our ball number. Norwich are doable.

Enjoyed that today, played nice football at times. Bit too open occasionally, Kilman to LCB sorted that out mostly.

Guess it’s going to be Donk at RCB for next few marches, odd that the CM who plays for one of the best international teams looks the most panicked of the 3 with the ball at his feet.

After that proper heads gone performance I hope we don’t see Adama again, pretty shameful to be so half assed. Trincy is not the answer though.

And we can definitely stick a fork in to the ‘never able to get a ticket’ argument now..

Norwich aren't even as good as the Sheffield side we just beat. Good draw for us.

Not sure I agree there, Utd had a few pub players out there today.

For sure, Pukki does a lot better than McGoldrick/Sharp with some of the chances they had and Krul won’t have as many rushes of blood to the head are two things that spring to my mind

Poor first 10. RAN looked like he’d been on the piss and was very sloppy for a good chunk of the first half. Him and Marcal were trying to give a goal away. Cannot play that against Saints, Sheff Utd saw that as the weak spot from the outset and targeted it. Will be too easy to just hit a diagonal to Broja. Anyway…

Silva was good. Liked what I saw. Podence was quality too. Struggled a little bit in midfield because Donck is useless there in a 2. Moutinho comes on and we have instant control. So Donck at CB please as he’s got the necessary physicality.

Ruddy with some good stops. But he shouldn’t have had a chance with them really.

Traore was laughably bad. He doesn’t/didn’t try, doesn’t move and combine that with awful ability and you get that kind of performance. Baffles me that Spurs want him (baffles me that people want him to stay with the contract situation and the clubs ethos but hey). Worried that performance might see Spurs see sense.
