I'm not in favour of prioritising the EL over the PL, but City away followed by an International break is the time to do it. Bennett for Donck and Saiss into midfield is the only change I'd make. I think his bite in the middle of the park could be needed. Jota looks to be out until after the IB

Raul looks like he needs a rest and isn't traveling to Mexico during the IB, so do we play him?

I think so but give him 50 minutes at most

Can see Cutrone playing. MGW in the front three potentially too. And agree about Saiss in midfield.

I can imagine Nuno will revert back to the more defensive (in terms of CM numbers) 3-4-1-2 for this one with Neves back in Cutrone replacing Neto.

I think we'll go:

-------------------------- Patricio ----------------------------

--------- Bennett ---- Coady ----- Boly ---------------

Traore ------- Donk -------- Neves -------- Jonny

------------------------ Moutinho --------------------------

------------ Jimenez ----------- Cutrone -------------

If anything the 343 was more solid defensively last time out, Traore and Neto both dropped into deeper, wider positions when Watford had a lot of the ball and made it more like a 541 which stopped the central midfielders being dragged out wide by overlapping fullbacks.

Which is why I said numerically.

Nuno switched back to it in the second half against Watford to help get a grip back and gain more possession when they were on top.

Doesn't even work numerically, you sacrifice a forward to get an extra midfielder when needed, 4>3.

I don't recall switching shape against Watford, looked like MGW played the left hand side when he came on and retained the original shape.

We did but only when Neves came on. Donck went back to his position of sitting with Doc on the right and it was pretty much the 3-5-2

I thought that was a mistake as it kept inviting Watford on to us. I think the 3-5-2 isn't going to work unless we stop persisting with Neves so deep. Push Neves up alongside Moutinho and Donk as we did last season and we'll be fine again.

I was really happy to see Nuno go for it from the start against Watford and hope he does the same against Besiktas.

When we made the sub, I disagreed as I didn't think we should be taking Adama off but for me it worked. It enabled us to keep the ball better in the closing minutes.

They got battered at the weekend and are really struggling domestically.

Shots in on Karius please.

I'd go the same as Saturday bar maybe Neves in for Moutinho (just on the basis of fatigue).

Interesting that Wolves have shortened dramatically in the betting for this game - 17/10 into 13/10. Let's hope a few Besiktas players are carrying knocks from the weekend.
Slightly ominously Besiktas are currently the dirtiest team in the Turkish league, with 20 yellows and 2 reds in six games. Given that the losers tomorrow are in real trouble, there could be a few meaty challenges

So much for keeping our heads down in Istanbul. Seen a few videos of a pub singalong with fans waving fireworks about!

Lads,
I wanna watch it on TV tonight but I don’t have BT sports is there anywhere else I will be able to get it ?
