Wolves 2-1 Villa: Verdict Thread

It doesn't matter who it is, they're all equally useless/corrupt. We have the worst standard of officiating of any top league anywhere in the world.
lol

Big take away is that today when looking at our starting 11 we had issues with the left wing back, 1 of the CM and the jury being out on our centre forward and trincao, and we could’ve/should’ve been 4 up. Great to see use of the squad and all being capable today.

Marcal suprised me, best performance in a wolves shirt, minus his one moment.

Think having boly in that back 3 makes a big difference, some very good header won.

Happy for silva. Very good performance. Don’t think we need to worry as much when Raul is missing now, which is a huge positive.

Our next 3 fixtures are very winnable. From the doom of our season being over after the Leeds loss, I feel there is still plenty to play for.

Tin foil hat time, I don't think it's incompetence

Fabio, Donck, Jonny, Trincao, Moutinho, Boly, Kilman, Coady, all excellent. Fabio really deserved a goal.

England did his best to even things up but Villa just weren't as keen as he was. Yet another disgraceful 'refereeing' performance, gave them everything and us nothing. Didn't look like a penalty to me in a million years from where we were sat, and the melees at the end were on him and he just let them happen. Absolute fucking disgrace.

Can we try to make it to page 3 before we start throwing personal insults around?

Fabio was very good...maybe should have done better with his chance early but Martinez is a good keeper, would have to see it again but it seemed like he closed the angle fairly well

Decent from Trincao, little unlucky once or twice but he didn't seem to let his head drop like he has so many times...hopefully he's turned a corner.

Podence kept picking the wrong option again. Not sure I can sum it up better than deciding to take 2-3 extra touches in the penalty area instead of shooting, then 25 yards out with no-one around him he decides he just has to hit it first time on his weaker side. Baffling, honestly.

Jonny was a little lucky to not be sent off for a 2nd yellow the way the 2nd half is going but it's a delight to see him playing like he's never been away, remarkable even. Thank god for medical science.

Was a concern they had collectively lost their heads again towards the end but we managed to get over the line this time. Really need to get it out of their collective system though as it'll cost us points again.

This is ultimately nitpicking though, we played well against an expensively assembled rabble...I'm not sure Gerrard will make it to the end of next season the way they're going. How unfortunate.

Comfortable win. Should have been 6.

Tactic to just sit off Mings and let him hoof the ball to us worked well. Then just exploit their gaping holes. Basically a slightly more disciplined Leeds with better players. They Offered nothing first half except for the hit from range which Sa dealt with and we had countless chances.

Second half was largely comfortable apart from the Watkins chance out of nowhere (I thought he was offside live) and then a nothing penalty gives them a lifeline. Sa otherwise claimed crosses and got punches, made the save from the other Watkins chance and generally stopped chances before they developed. Save at the end is massive too.

No one from the starting 11 played badly. We didn’t ask Donck to do too much and it worked well. Moutinho controlled the middle, everyone was decent with special mentions to Marcal and Fabio. Jonny right place and a great finish even if Podence should have scored himself.

Ref totally lost it at the end Which gave them the opportunity to lump it in which they shouldn’t have had. But we came through and that should pretty much guarantee 8th and keep us in the hunt for 7th.

Takes one to know one, if we are being 8 years old

I watch enough football to know that the standard of officiating in the PL is right at the bottom of the pile.
It's not good but come on man.
