Blues 0-2 Wolves: The Verdict

It always gets massively overstated when KJ is perceived to have lost the tactical battle so full credit goes to him today, as he comprehensively outdid Rowett (who I really rate).

Well said. Ive had a go at KJ after he's lost us points this season so fair play to him for winning us 3 away at Blues. Spot on with his tactics today.

Hopefully it's an unchanged team for Bristol.

See the rest of the post you quoted for credit where its due. I dont think Im being unfair in asking where the fuck that performance has been the rest of this season though. Today we exposed Brum for the poor side they are, why didn't we do that vs Bolton/PNE/Brentford etc?

Contrary to what I have posted in other threads throughout the season but a massive difference was the confidence and the experience an older head brings in the defence - and I thought that confidence grew throughout the team as the game went on.

Not saying Williamson is wholly responsible for that but I was pleased he was wearing a gold shirt today. Didn't expect him to make such an impact on his debut.

Credit to him for that.

Can we all please just take a minute to savour the moment when the ball looped gracefully over Paul Robinson's head? Perfect.

One of the moments of the season. The fat oaf looking like a pub footballer.

Shame it didn't take a more awkward bounce and smack the dirty, cheating cunt in his stupid fat face. And then go in for an OG.

But we'll take the assist. Thanks, Paul. You cunt.

So close to topping that with an OG as well.

Afobe should also take credit for his alertness once ball Robinson misjudged. His poke at the ball caused it to bounce of Kus and out to DDE for the goal.

Afobe was 1 step ahead of Robinson. He had already checked his run in anticipation of Robinson looking like a tit

A great all round team performance today. The only downside was Afobe who I thought was very poor today. His touch was awful when we were in a decent position and he lost the ball so easily. It was the right call to take him off.
I don't know whats happened to him but looks half the player he was last season.

Birmingham got everything they deserved. I have never seen a team moan and sulk from minute one to minute ninety as much as Blues did today. Donaldson is a disgrace and literally complained to the referee about EVERYTHING. I wouldn't be able to put up with watching that kind of attitude from one of my clubs players week in week out so kudos to the Birmingham fans for that, at least!

Iorfa, Williamson and Edwards were superb but the attitude (and school boy control) of Afobe is deeply worrying.

Fantastic result though and just what we needed.

Hopefully Benik just needs a goal or two and then his head will be back up. At the moment he is a shadow. Definitely a concern.

Afobe was very good vs Middlesbrough, not his day today but I'm not concerned about him at all.

If he was playing badly and not getting any goals/assists I'd be worried but that's not the case here. Bully used to have occasional lean patches but his presence was always a threat. He'd defy his form and pop up with a goal when it never looked like he'd score. Not dissimilar to Afobe IMO.

luckily some of the refereeing decisions cost us today - some were really poor - a real 'homer' ref

Special mention from me for Iorfa. I'm not the huge fan a lot of you are. However he was immense today and deserves all the plaudits coming his way

They came to get a point, in exactly the same way we did at their place last season in GR's first match. We gifted them 2 extra points.

Let's see where we are at the end of November, as I can't see us really changing the way we play.

Great reading around the Blose interweb today..

Couldn't follow the game as i had a lot of work today getting the wine barrells ready.(priorities)

Came home , saw the result but it was a muted celebration, in all honesty.

Wonderful, wonderful result, but i cannot shake the thoughts out of my head as to why this game?, when we were outright kak in so many others, was so demonstrative as many of you write.

Was a senior central defender all we really needed? or do we rush on to BC expecting to win 5-0 and get shagged?

I think Morgan's decision is causing much more anxst behind the scenes than we think, and am resignend to finishing mid table, and hopefully keeping Iorfa and Afobe in January.

Sorry it's a lack lustre post, but i don't go obscene the other way either, at least i don't think so.

There is a lot wrong at the club, and even the sheer delight at totally shagging this bunch of shitkickers today, doesn't mean i won the lotto.

To give Afobe some credit; he was involved early in the build up to DDE's goal, and until lateish in the second half he spent a long time involved in a game with a lot of long balls to his head and not his feet.

Having said that; he probably should have come off 5 mins before he actually did, the last 10-15 mins of his appearance he was poor!

Great win, hopefully we can inject a higher tempo to our game, press a few more teams in midfield and put a run together.
